The King Firm, LLC, in Moorhead, MN.

At The King Firm, we do not assume a diagnosis of alcoholism or other addiction exists when people contact us for help. Our expert alcohol and drug assessment process provides an accurate diagnosis along with recommendations for follow-up care. Whatever your needs, an assessment is the place to start.

The assessment is performed by a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in addictionology who will also assess for a co-occurring or “dual diagnosis” disorder. This refers to the existence of an addiction along with a mental or emotional disorder. Those with co-occurring disorders face complex challenges. They have increased rates of relapse, hospitalization, homelessness, and HIV and Hepatitis C infection compared to those with either mental or substance use disorders alone. We offer appropriate recommendations, too, if you meet criteria for a dual diagnosis (ex: depression and alcohol abuse).
