At House of Charity, we believe we must first meet an individual's basic needs for food and shelter. It is only after those needs are met and an individual feels secure and not solely focused on survival, that s/he can address other barriers to self-sufficiency, such as chemical dependency, mental illness, poor life skills, and lack of education and employment, among others. We give individuals the opportunity to help themselves in a supportive environment.
