Peer Advisory Council (PAC)

Our Peer Advisory Council brings together people with lived experience in recovery to help guide and strengthen our work. Members share their voices, insights, and experiences to ensure programs and advocacy reflect what truly supports recovery in our community.

By listening to those closest to the journey, we build more inclusive, responsive, and recovery-centered services—together.

Amplifying Lived Experience. Guiding Our Path Forward.

At MRC, we believe that recovery is ongoing — and the voices of people with lived experience must lead the way. The Peer Advisory Council (PAC) is a core part of that mission: a council of community members who provide guidance, feedback, and accountability to ensure our work remains grounded, accessible, and responsive.

Our Mission

To be an integrated, community-rooted voice that guides and supports Minnesota Recovery Connection’s mission to strengthen the recovery community through peer-to-peer support, public education, and advocacy.

We believe that real change happens when the people most affected shape the path forward. PAC ensures MRC’s programs, policies, and initiatives align with the lived realities of those in recovery.

What PAC Does

  • Collaborative Leadership: Members contribute to shaping MRC’s direction by bringing lived experience, insights, and values into decision making.
  • Program Feedback & Design: PAC gives input on services, training, and outreach to help ensure they are accessible, inclusive, and culturally humble.
  • Accountability & Integrity: PAC holds MRC to the promises it makes — ensuring integrity, equity, and responsiveness in how we operate.
  • Community Engagement: PAC members help represent and connect with diverse segments of the recovery community — bringing awareness, inclusivity, and relational reach.

Events & Engagement

PAC isn’t just advisory — it’s active. Our council hosts and participates in events throughout the year: recovery celebrations, forums, advocacy days, and listening sessions. These moments strengthen connection, visibility, and collective energy in our recovery community.
